Craft Collective

Craft Collective

A safe-space for women of all ages and cultures who meet every Friday to share and learn traditional crafts.

The Women’s Craft Collective was originally set up in partnership with the Plymouth and District Racial Equality Council for women of all ages and backgrounds to come together to share and learn traditional crafts.

The group now attracts around 30 regular participants who practise knitting and crochet amongst other craft activities. Whether you are an advanced knitter or a keen novice you can be sure of a warm welcome.

The group undertakes regular projects for a variety of charities, including recent work that saw them donate knitted clothing to Shekinah, regular donations to Derriford Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and more recently support charity work in Gambia. You may also be able to buy some of the amazing knitted goods made by the group in our shop, or spot displays of their work in our Simmons Learning Room display case.

The group meet in the Simmons Learning Room every Friday morning from 10am-12pm. There is a voluntary membership fee of £1.50 per week.

We are currently operating a waiting list. Please get in touch if you'd like to be added to this.
