Join us and Life On The Edge and help us fill our cabinet of incredible creatures with surreal bugs made from collage materials.

Summer Holiday Special: On Wednesday 30 July, you can see a 6m high biomechanical insect sculpture on Tavistock Place with a special performance with a live soundtrack from 12.45-1.30pm – plus, we’ll have live big bug handing with the University of Plymouth. Come and see stick insects, giant snails, giant cockroaches, katydid, beetles, spiders!

Week Two: 5-7 August
Have loads of fun making creations with the Surrealist art technique of decalcomania - a blotting process where paint is squeezed between two surfaces to create a mirror image. What hidden images can you see?

Week Three: 12-14 August
Make your own Surrealist sculptures from clay using inspiration from the great Henry Moore and Jean Arp which you can see in our 'Forbidden Territories' exhibition.

Week Four: 19-21 August
Make surreal animal puppets. Use card, photos, sticks and more. Why not combine your chosen animal with another object to create something truly unique?

Week Five: 26-28 August
Make a surreal print using gelli plates and torn paper shapes. Where will your imagination take you?

Don't forget, our free Tell Me a Story sessions will also be running from 10.30-11am each Friday throughout the holidays too!
