Super Saturday: Pet Portraits Beryl-Style

Beryl Cook loved animals… they feature in many of her paintings including her own beloved pet cat Cedric. Stout dogs and ‘chonky’ cats litter her work and often steal the scene. This fun workshop, led by student artist Fatima Al Duhaimi will take you through the basics of creating your own Beryl-style portrait using acrylic paints and collage.
Beginners are welcome! All you need to do is bring in a photo of your favourite pet and then you'll take home your finished artwork replete with a leopard print frame.
Our fun plus-sized portraits will celebrate pets of all shapes and sizes. Don’t worry if your pet isn't larger than life - they soon will be with this special Beryl Cook transformation!
All portraits will be photographed so we can compile by our own mini exhibition in our Simmons Learning Room.
