Opening hours
In 2024, Smeaton's Tower will be open:
• 10am-5pm, Tuesday-Sunday from Saturday 30 March-Sunday 29 September
• 10am-5pm, 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 26-27 October and 29 October-3 November
• Last entries are at 4.30pm
Occasional closures
Smeaton's Tower is occasionally closed for special events and essential maintenance. We'll add details of any planned closures with as much notice as possible on this page. We'll also share details on The Box's social media accounts.
• On Thursday 18 April, the lighthouse will close at 2.30pm for a private event.
• From Thursday 13 until Sunday 16 June, the lighthouse will be closed while the 'Plymouth Summer Sessions' take place on Plymouth Hoe.
• On Tuesday 16 July, the lighthouse will be closed from 11.15am-1.45pm.
How to buy
Simply buy your tickets on the door. No need to book in advance.
Groups of 15 or more
For group visits of 15 or more, please arrange a date and arrival time by contacting us. Payment will be taken on arrival at the start of your visit.

Concessions are available to Students with valid ID, Jobseekers with proof of eligibility, Seniors aged 65+ with valid ID, people with disabilities and National Art Pass/Art Fund/Museums Association members with valid proof.
