Meet the Makers

18 November 2025

The Box is hosting its first ever 'Winter Makers Market' on 22 and 23 November 2025 in the beautiful St Luke's gallery. The event will be a great opportunity to browse and buy from a selection of exceptional local makers and artists - just in time for Christmas! Here's your chance to find out more about some of the many makers who will be there.

Flotsam Prints

Printmaker Megan has a studio in Plymouth and specialises in linocut with a distinctive style that combines clean lines and silhouettes with colours taken straight from the natural world. She is particularly inspired by her frequent outdoor swimming adventures and credits the cold water with re-igniting her creative flame after a seven-year career break.

MeeMu

MeeMu Jewellery is the creative work of Plymouth-based jeweller Ana Simões. Each piece Simões makes is hand drawn in wax and cast in small batches using recycled sterling silver or gold vermeil. The shapes are simple and familiar, but no two are ever quite the same. Whether a pendant, ring or earring, every piece feels personal and clearly handmade.

Trelowen Pottery

This Cornish potter is based in Launceston and makes wheel thrown and hand finished functional and decorative wear from stoneware clay. Their ranges are inspired by their surroundings and include ‘Goon’ (meaning ‘moor’ in Cornish), ‘Men’ (‘stone’) and ‘Morewon’ (‘sea-foam’). The business name ‘Trelowen’ means ‘happy home/ place’ as they hope their pieces will bring happiness into people’s homes.

Tumbled Treasure

Tumbled Treasure jewellery is handmade and designed using Seaglass collected on the beach. Recycled sterling silver and gold are cut and shaped around the Seaglass to maintain beautiful organic shapes, naturally tumbled by the sea and the sand. Commission pieces using Seaglass found by customers are also welcomed, and can provide a cherished memory of a favourite beach.
