Statement on racism

Statement on racism

9 June 2020

We stand in solidarity against racism towards black communities.

How we can make a difference within a society built on empire is a question we’ve asked ourselves many times during the development of The Box.

Recent events have created real momentum in the fight against racism, and helped us all reflect on how we can do better.

As we work towards opening we will continue to acknowledge our past and recognise our responsibility to make meaningful change through our galleries, exhibitions, events, learning offer and other areas across the organisation.

We will keep sharing information about this as we move forward on this website and our social media channels.
