The workshop is part of the Page of Plymouth project devised by Literature Works and David Prescott and supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Working with The Box, Barbican Theatre, Arts University Plymouth, Kiss and Bite and The Rose Playhouse, the project uses a lost play set in 1590s Plymouth to explore Plymouth lives then and now.
The workshop also links to Jyll Bradley’s self-portraits that are displayed as part of the Running and Returning exhibition in St. Luke’s. In these photographs Bradley is dressed as the lead character in Virginia Woolf’s novel Orlando, which follows a young nobleman in the court of Queen Elizabeth I.
