Step back into 16th century Plymouth as BA (Hons) Costume Production students from Arts University Plymouth take over our North Hall with a presentation of specially made costumes inspired by the tragic story of young Elizabethan woman, Eulalia Page. Writers from the ‘Women Speak Volumes’ group will bring the costumes to life with readings written especially for the presentation, commemorating her story on International Women’s Day.

‘Page of Plymouth’, Ben Jonson’s lost play, is a true crime tale that is also the oldest known piece of literature set in the city. It follows the story of Eulalia Page, and her plot to murder the wealthy Plymouth merchant, Master Page. It’s a tale of gender inequality, unequal access to justice, and ordinary lives in Plymouth.

The ‘Page of Plymouth’ project was devised by Literature Works and David Prescott and supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It's being delivered in partnership with The Box, Barbican Theatre, Arts University Plymouth, Kiss and Bite and The Rose Playhouse.
