Here you can find information about our reproduction agreement, copyright and supplying of files to help you evaluate images and films.
Sample reproduction agreements
Here are examples of our agreements:
Copyright
The Box does not own the copyright for all the items in the collection, so it is important to check the status with us.
For items that are out of copyright, and we have not provided the image we can complete due diligence this will provide verification of the object and attribution details, including copyright and clearance checks for the original object related to the image. It also includes a review of any terms of use in the object contract. This checking is crucial for enquiries where the image is intended for publication, ensuring best practices for authentic and responsible representation.
Works in copyright remain in copyright and can be licensed under copyright; where the work is out of copyright they can be licensed to users under contract.
The effort and cost expended in creating and supplying digital image(s) from works within the collections can be recouped through licensing or service fees regardless of copyright status.
Low resolution copies
We can supply low resolution images, 72dpi (thumbnail size enabling you to see what the image is, however text will be blurred), for evaluation and review for viewing free of charge.
We can supply .MP4 files with timecode and The Box logo for evaluation and review purposes free of charge.
